Anthony Davidson, (Winner, No 7 Peugeot): “I could not get the best from my tires on the dirty track at the start of the race. We did not panic at that point and switched to the medium compound MICHELIN. They were just what we needed, as they provided excellent grip and remained consistent over two stints – no problems!”
Sébastien Bourdais (Winner, No 7 Peugeot): “Our decision to switch to the medium compound and to double-stint the MICHELIN tires was a good one, as we could then close the gap to the Audis and then build up a gap. This is a great 1 -2 result for Peugeot and I am very proud and happy for the team, See you all next year!”
Franck Montagny (Second, No 8 Peugeot): “The nature of this tight track, with its emphasis on braking and acceleration made it difficult for us to really show our potential. We started the race on different tires than the No 7 car, and could never break free from the traffic. In addition, we lost a lot of time because of yellow flags in critical parts or the track. We won everything except races this year, but we will be back stronger than ever in 2012.”
Stéphane Sarrazin (Second, No 8 Peugeot): “This was a great season for Peugeot, winning the ILMC title for the second year in a row. The 2012 World Endurance Championship will be very important for the Manufacturers as well as the drivers. Our goal will be to win the titles again and win the Le mans 24 Hours of course.”
Marcel Fassler (Third, No 1 Audi): “The turning point of the race for our car was a drop in performance compared to the Peugeot during my second stint. We then decided to change tires at every stop, but the extra time spent in the pits dropped us from contention for the win.”
Timo Bernhard (Third, No 1 Audi): “This was another great race with Peugeot, and I hope the fans appreciated the show, See you all in 2012 for a season that I know will be exciting.”
