MICHELIN invited 80 resellers to Zhuhai this Sunday. After welcoming cocktails, the guests visited the Paddocks and went on the popular Pit Walk to get an up-close look at the cars and team installations. MICHELIN China does things in a grand scale, with a huge Guest Welcoming Stand near the track entrance. Neophytes to endurance racing have been discovering the secrets of the sport there all weekend. And enjoying themselves immensely, I might add.
This is the last weekend of this season in terms of major motorsport events for MICHELIN, and the Company has taken this opportunity to celebrate its multiple wins and titles for 2011, especially those in Asia.
In the ultra competitive Japanese Super GT Series, considered one of the most competitive anywhere, MICHELIN tires were key to the MOLA (Nissan GT-R) Team’s dominating performance in winning both the Driver and Manufacturer titles.
In the Asia-Pacific Rallye Championship, the Proton Satria Neo S2000 won again last weekend at Longyou, using MICHELIN tires of course. This win clinched the 2011 Driver title for Alister McRae.
This weekend, MICHELIN is looking to add another win to its total in the ultra competitive ILMC race at Zhuhai.
