Toyota with Oreca in 2012
Following the announcement of its return to Le Mans in 2012, Toyota has revealed that it will employ the services of Oreca to assist in the project.

Häkkinen to race at Zhuhai
The two-time F1 world champion Mika Häkkinen will contest the final round of the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup in a Mercedes SLS AMG. A field of 29 cars is expected for the Chinese race at Zhuhai.

Testing of the Peugeot 908 HYbrid4 begins
The Peugeot 908 HYbrid4 made its test debut at Estoril, Portugal, last week. The outing marked the start of a major test programme for the car, the powertrain of which has also been run on the test-bench at the team’s base in Vélizy, near Paris.

Toyota returns to Le Mans
Toyota has announced its intention to contest the 2012 Le Mans 24 Hours with a petrol/hybrid LMP1 prototype which could well take part in several rounds of next year’s World Endurance Championship as well.

MICHELIN: 100 years of sport
The ASM (Association Sportive Michelin = Michelin Sporting Association) was founded on October 11, 1911. For the past 100 years, MICHELIN has been involved in an extensive list of disciplines, notably motorsport, and the centenary will be duly celebrated in the firm’s hometown (Clermont-Ferrand, France) in the form of different exhibitions and an international ‘Sport & Business’ convention on November 5-6.

The sporting regulations for 2012
This extract is taken from a document called “Sporting guidelines 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship.” The complete sporting regulations will not be announced before the 30th November 2011 after the next meeting of the Endurance Commission scheduled for 21st November 2011.

The 2012 regulations
The ACO (Automobile Club de l’Ouest) has published the basic technical and sporting regulations for the World Endurance Championship (WEC) which will kick off in 2012.
