The German’s steep learning curve is already producing strong results.
The Intercontinental Le Mans Cup teams will be back in action in three weeks’ time when they travel to England for the Silverstone 6 Hours. A field of 54 cars is expected for the final European round of this series which will gain FIA World Championship status in 2012.
Following the factory Aston Martin team’s announcement that it intends to continue its 2011 programme with a closed-cockpit LMP1 prototype, a Lola-Aston Martin took the win at the Mid-Ohio round of this year’s American Le Mans Series.
The Aston Martin factory team is expected to finish its 2011 ILMC campaign with a ‘former-generation’ Lola-Aston Martin. Development of the new AMR-One is effectively turning out to take longer than expected.
