The Nürburgring 24 Hours has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and this weekend’s race is no exception. Never before have so many potential race winners and powerful sports cars gathered at the ‘Ring. And rarely have tyres promised to play such a decisive role in the fight for one of the world’s most coveted endurance racing trophies.

Shortly before 6pm, the N°2 Ferrari and the N°22 Mercedes both made their second pit-stops, which handed the provisional lead in the 2011 Nürburgring 24 Hours to the factory BMW M3 GTs of Dirk Müller and Jörg Müller.
With less than an hour to go before the start of the 2011 Nürburgring 24 Hours, the grid is packed with people, while the 198 qualified cars are ready for action.
