Victory for the N°18 Porsche of Marc Lieb/Lucas Luhr/Timo Bernhard/Romain Dumas saw the German make add an 11th success to its already enviable record round the 25.378km Nordschleife. The result also took Michelin’s score in the celebrated 24-hour race to seven wins in eight years. The N°1 BMW M3 GT had to settle for runner-up honours, while the N°14 Michelin-equipped Audi R8 LMS made it three different car makes on the podium.

While the drivers were busy pounding round the Nordschleife at daybreak, the campsites in the circuit’s infield were slowly awakening. But judging by the carpet of empty beer cans and bottles, the vast majority of the spectators probably didn’t spend the evening keeping detailed lap-charts!

It’s been a relatively quiet and pleasantly mild (15°C) night at the Nürburgring where the N°18 Porsche has extended its lead over the N°32 Mercedes, the N°15 Audi and the N°1 BMW.

Since our last report at 6pm, the provisional order has changed significantly at the Nürburgring. With a third of the race completed, the N°18 Porsche GT3 RSR of Lieb/Lhur/Bernhard/Dumas now leads ahead of the N°32 Mercedes and the N°76 BMW Z4.
