After last Saturday’s Spa 1,000km, the ACO published a press release which announced that it is considering adjusting the performance balance between the different types of car ahead of the Le Mans 24 Mans.

Gimmi Bruni and Giancarlo Fisichella win the Spa 1000KM aboard the No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari 458. Another Ferrari, car No. 89, finished second.

This is the fifth year in a row that Peugeot and their MICHELIN partner win the Spa 1000Km event. Marc Gené, Alexander Wurz and Anthony Davidson have given the new Peugeot 908 its first win.

After starting from the middle and the back of the grid, all three Peugeot/MICHELIN quickly caught up to the three Audi R18 TDi/MICHELIN competition, with Alexander Wurz (No. 7 Peugeot) taking over the lead on lap 20. All three Peugeot are now at the front of the race, midway through this 6-hour event, ahead of all three Audi.
