It’s become something of a tradition for the Peugeot Sport squad to take a week off between Spa and Le Mans while the mechanics put the finishing touches to the race cars at the team’s base in Vélizy, near Paris. This year, the drivers spent a week in Chamonix, in the French Alps.

With Le Mans only four weeks away, their programme included hiking, mountain biking, climbing, via ferrata and a night spent in a mountain shelter. “We’ve done a lot of fitness training this year, with a four-day course every month,” says Stéphane Sarrazin who has also profited from the recent fine weather to cycle almost 2,000km.

The only driver who was missing from the squad in Chamonix was Anthony Davidson who is about to become a father anytime soon. We’ll keep you posted.
