The organisers of the 12 Hours of Sebring – the opening round of the 2011 ILMC and 2011 ALMS – have received 59 entries. They include all the class winners of last year’s race, as well as the 2010 ALMS champions. It is also the biggest entry since 2002 and there is plenty that is new about the field.

59 entries for Sebring. In 2010, Peugeot secured one-two finish
Eight of 14 LMP1 prototypes will be making their race debut at the bumpy Florida racetrack: the Peugeot 908s, the Rebellion Lola-Toyota, the Aston Martin One, the Highcroft Racing ARX-01e, the Hope Racing Oreca 03 Hybrid and the two OAK Racing Pescarolo-Judds. Meanwhile, the prototypes that have been modified to comply with the latest regulations include the two Audi R15s, Oreca-Matmut’s Peugeot 908 HDI FAP, the Muscle Milk Lola-Aston Martin and the Dyson Racing Lola-Mazdas which topped the timesheets at the recent Winter Tests.
The LMP2 entry boasts fewer cars but there will be four engine makers and two tire manufacturers contesting the class. In contrast, the GT class features an exciting list of 25 cars. The defending Teams’ and Manufacturers’ champions Team RLL BMW will be up against the Flying Lizard Porsche 997 GT3 RSRs, the factory Corvette C6.Rs, the similar Larbre Compétition-run cars and the new Ferrari F458s which will be in the hands of AF Corse, Extreme Speed Motorsport, Luxury Racing and Risi Competizione. Other cars to keep an eye on will be the Gulf AMR Middle East Aston Martin Vantage, the Jaguar RSRs, the West Racing Lamborghini, the Robertson-tended Ford GT and the new Panoz Abruzzi which will be racing on MICHELIN rubber.
The 2010 race saw Peugeot secure a one-two finish thanks to Wurz/Gené/Davidson and Bourdais/Minassian/Lamy.
