Team ORECA-Matmut will run a Peugeot 908 HDI FAP in the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup

With the official presentation of the new Peugeot 90X due later this week, ORECA-Matmut has announced its own 2011 programme which will see it contest the ILMC with a Peugeot 908 HDI FAP. Nico Lapierre and Loïc Duval have been confirmed as two of the drivers, but the team hasn’t said who will join them for the longer events.

Their season will begin with the 12 Hours of Sebring at the end of March, and the car will run to the latest 2011 LMP1 regulations (new air restrictors and turbo pressure). ORECA hasn’t raced in Florida since its GTS class win at Sebring in 2000.

The new ORECA03 LMP2 prototype is also up and running and the car is currently being developed in association with Michelin. Three teams have expressed a wish to race this open-cockpit car in 2011, namely Sbarta Sport, Race Performance and, more recently, TDS Racing. The French outfit will also be represented by Hope Polevision’s programme with an ORECA 01-Hybride (Steve Zacchia has been confirmed) and by a number of Formula Le Mans cars in the LMS, ALMS and ILMC.
