Audi will shortly celebrate its one-two-three finish in the 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours in the streets of Clermont-Ferrand when it visits Michelin’s home city with the race-winning Audi R15 TDi next week. We will naturally be covering the two days at www.lemanslive.com.

Audi, 2010 Le Mans winners, in Clermont-Ferrand for a road show

On December 1-2, the capital of France’s Auvergne region will be given over to the world of endurance racing, following the special invitation Michelin has extended to its partner, Audi Sport, with whom the tire giant has secured nine Le Mans wins since 2000.

During their stay in Michelin’s home city, the three winners of last June’s Le Mans 24 Hours – namely Mike Rockenfeller, Romain Dumas, Andre Lotterer, who will be joined by ‘Mr. Le Mans’ Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish – will visit the factory where their tires are made and also meet Michelin staff.

Early on the afternoon of Thursday, December 2, the drivers will takes turns at the wheel of the 600hp Audi R15 TDI round a special 2.4km track that will be laid out in the streets of Clermont-Ferrand. The paddock that will be set up in the premises of Michelin Compétition will be open to the public for the occasion. Meanwhile, Place de Jaude, in the heart of the city, will host a special show featuring a variety of attractions, including a driving simulator. The programme will end with an autograph signing session.
