David Brabham will be only the second driver after Johnny O’Connell to clock up 100 ALMS starts from the 117 rounds organised to date. A respectful score indeed!

His first outing in the American endurance championship was the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1999, driving the N°1 Panoz he shared with Frenchman Eric Bernard. One hundred races on, he will again be behind the wheel of a car bearing number one and will again be sharing it with a Frenchman, namely Simon Pagenaud.

Of the 99 ALMS races he has started, the Australian has finished 96 times inside the top-ten, 58 times on the podium and 22 times on the highest step. Two of those wins were at Mosport, in 2008 (LMP2 Acura) and 2009 (LMP1 Acura). David is also the only ALMS driver to have claimed pole position and taken wins in all four classes!

It was 43 years ago at the same Canadian circuit that his father, Jack, took the spoils in the inaugural Canadian F1 Grand Prix: “Mosport and the Brabham family definitely go back a long way. It’s one of the fastest tracks of the year and I would love to celebrate this weekend’s anniversary with a win. Our HPD will be running a Le Mans-type aerodynamic package.”
