Tom Kristensen took the wheel of the Audi R15 Plus on Wednesday and Thursday, with Dindo Capello taking over the car on Friday. The objective of the session was to validate a certain number of parts for Le Mans. Building of the prototypes that will contest the French race is currently under completion at the team’s Ingolstadt headquarters and the semi-trailers are scheduled to leave for Le Mans in the middle of next week.

For Kolles, on the other hand, it was their one and only test session ahead of the Le Mans 24 Hours which, among other jobs, enabled it to make its definitive choice of Michelin tyres for the race. The team took two Audi R10 TDIs, but only one actually went out, covering some 2,000km. Six drivers took turns in the car; Albers, Bakkerud and Jarvis hadn’t driven the R10 in six months (their last outing being the Asian Le Mans Series meeting in Okayama), while 1993 Le Mans winner Christophe Bouchut, Scott Tucker and Manuel Rodrigues got their first taste of the three-time Le Mans-winning machine.
