The 2010 campaign of the only all-lady crew entered for Le Mans suffered something of a blow when Natacha Gachnang crashed out in a GT1 World Championship race. She is doing all she can to be fit enough in time to contest June’s 24-hour race.

On April 17, at Yas Marina, in Abu Dhabi, Natacha’s left the track at about 260kph at the end of the straight during the qualifying session.
She was taken to Sheikh Qualifa Hospital in lAbu Dhabi, where news was confirmed that she had suffered a double fracture of her right tibia. The ensuing operation went well and the Swiss driver returned home last Tuesday.
Martin Bartek, the man in charge of Matech Competition’s girls, has given us an encouraging udpate: “Natacha is fine, in good spirits and exremely fired up. Her recovery programme starts this week, and there have been no complications whatsoever so far. Le Mans is in less than two months’ time and we are confident that she will have recovered by then. As things stand, we do not intend to change our original plans.”
Everyone at Lemanslive wishes Natacha a speedy recovery, and we hope to see her racing with Rahel and Cyndie at Le Mans.
