The second round of the 2010 American Le Mans Series will be a 100-minute sprint through the streets of Long Beach (California), making it the shortest race of this year’s calendar.

Following Peugeot’s success at Sebring, the American teams will be back at the helm of their home series this weekend when the ALMS visit’s Long Beach’s street circuit.

The 35-strong entry features a number of Michelin partner teams, including the HPD-ARX01c of defending champions Patron Highcroft Racing, the Cytosport-run Porsche RS Spyder, the Drayson Racing Lola-Judd and the factory Lola-Aston Martin prototype.

Meanwhile, Michelin’s GT partners Corvette, Porsche and Ferrari will be able to benefit from the ‘street soft’ tyre developed specifically for this type of circuit.

Teams are likely to make a single pit-stop which will need to pass off particularly slickly if they want to stand a chance of winning the Californian fixture. The race starts at 4:40pm local time.
