No fewer than 27 cars took part in the 2010 Winter Tests session in Sebring, Florida, where the N°009 Lola-Aston Martin posted the fastest time ahead of Intersport Racing’s Lola-AER. The different categories were all dominated by Michelin partners.
The two-day session over the bumps at Sebring was dominated by the 2009 Le Mans Series-winning Lola-Aston Martin which was in the hands of Adrian Fernandez, Chris Buncombe and Harold Primat. The Lola AMR team’s run was unfortunately spoiled by a big crash involving Primat towards the end of the session.
The LMP2 class was led by the Patron Highcroft Racing-tended HPD-ARX-01c (Brabham/Franchitti/Pagenaud) ahead of the Dyson Mazda and the Cytosport Porsche RS Spyder.
The coming season promises to be exceptionally close in GT2, with Ferrari, Porsche, BMW and Corvette all expected to challenge for the crown. The Le Mans-winning Risi Competizione Ferrari topped the timesheets in Sebring, but it was closely tailed by the Flying Lizard Porsches and the BMWs. Indeed, the top eight times were covered by less than a second!
