Peugeot Sport profited from a press conference at its Parisian headquarters yesterday (Monday) to release details of its 2010 endurance racing programme. The factory-run 908 HDI FAP/Michelin will appear in five events this season.
Before going into the calendar, allow us first of all to name Peugeot Sport’s driver line-up for this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours: Alexander Wurz, Marc Gené and newcomer Anthony Davidson will share the N°1 Peugeot 908, the N°2 car will be in the hands of Nicolas Minassian, Stéphane Sarrazin and Franck Montagny, while the N°3 machine will be the responsibility of Sébastien Bourdais, Simon Pagenaud and Pedro Lamy.
There will also be two factory 908s at the start of the 12 Hours of Sebring, and a three-car entry for the 1,000km de Spa as part of the team’s preparations for Le Mans. Peugeot Sport intends to take part in the Silverstone round of the Le Mans Series, and finally in the Asian Le Mans Series race in Shanghai. There are currently no plans to contest the Petit Le Mans in the USA.
The programme kicks off at the end of March in Sebring where Bourdais/Lamy/Minassian and Wurz/Gené/Davidson will be out to win the American classic.
Peugeot Sport’s programme with Michelin also includes 11 endurance test sessions, some of which are scheduled to last 30 hours! Two of these sessions took place earlier in the year, at Aragon (Spain) in January and at Le Castellet (France) in the middle of February. Another run is scheduled for this week at Le Castellet.
